Pointless Theatre has been producing original puppet theatre spectacles for Washington, DC audiences since 2010. Recipient of the Helen Hayes Awards’ John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company, Pointless Theatre has grown from an ensemble of “unabashed weirdos” into a 501c3 organization with three productions per year, an annual operating budget of over $150,000, an eight-member board of governors, and a twelve-person volunteer staff. Pointless is looking to add a full-time staff position to work with the volunteer staff and board of governors to strategically grow the organization.

Pointless Theatre Company is seeking a Videographer.The Videographer works closely with the marketing department and artistic directors to produce video material for the 2018-2019 season.

SHOW #1: November/December Rehearsals, January/February Performances.

SHOW #2: April/May Rehearsals, June Performances.


The successful candidate will have a keen artistic eye, work well in collaborative situations, as well as be disciplined enough to work independently to meet all deadlines.


  • Responding to initial production & planning meetings regarding video content

  • Creating a 15-30 second promotional video for both productions

  • Up to 3 rounds of drafts for notes/approval before final edit

  • Filming a run of the show for archival/promotional use

The stipend for this position is $600 for the season. Hours are flexible. Employee can complete some work from home. This stipend covers the actual shoot dates and all subsequent hours spent on video manipulation/editing/post-production.
